Our October Brother of the Month is brother Rico Cabeza de Vaca ‘22. Rico joined our chapter his freshman year, and he has been heavily involved since his initiation. He has been a strong advocate for our chapter, and we very much appreciate all the work he’s put in to make our experience the best it can be. Rico has been a strong presence both in IFC and in our own chapter, and his leadership has led to the betterment of our organization in many ways. Further, we all love our beautiful chapter house, and Rico works hard as the house manager to keep it in its best shape while ensuring future classes can appreciate it as well.

In addition to our appreciation of his efforts, Rico has established himself as a much beloved member of our chapter. He has a certain type of charisma that makes it almost difficult to not enjoy being around him. Rico cares about his brothers, and he has proved time and time again that he will do whatever he can to be there for all of us. All around he’s a great guy, and we’re lucky to call him our friend.

Rico is also admired for his ability to take on a lot of responsibility while also tackling a rigorous academic load. It’s almost a mystery to us that he is able to juggle all he does for our fraternity and still be successful in his studies within Penn’s Huntsman program. Because of the program’s structure, Rico will be staying on one more semester after he graduates, and we will make sure to utilize his experience/counsel until he ultimately moves on to the next chapter of his life.

Cheers, Rico! While we are sad to see you go, we are excited for your bright future! In Hoc!
